NZX develops indices that reflect the range of products traded on NZX Markets. NZX indices are followed by financial institutions and investors worldwide.

You can expect to see more indices created in the coming months as NZX Markets reveals new, innovative domestic and global trading environments. NXZ also develops custom indices to meet specific client needs. The NZX Equity Indices Methodology is available on request to data@nzx.com

Nzx50

This index, as the headline index for the New Zealand stock market, comprises the 50 largest companies listed on the NZX Main Board.

Nzx15

Third index comprises the 15 largest and most liquid domestic securities listed on the NZX Main Board.

Nzx50 Pf

The NZX 50(PF) follows the same constituents as the NZX 50, but limits the weight of any one security to 5 percent of the index market capitalisation.

Scitech

This index was launched in 2006 to profile the performance of companies that have a significant business interest in the development and commercialisation of new technologies and innovation.

Nzx10

Is home to the 10 biggest New Zealand listed companies.

Mid Cap

Measures price trends of New Zealand’s medium sized companies. It comprises all the New Zealand based companies in the NZX 50 Index, excluding those companies in the NZX 10.

Small Cap

Follows all domestic equity securities listed on the NZX Main Board that are not included in the NZX 50.

All

Comprises all domestic equity securities listed on the NZX Main Board. Constituents are weighted by free float market capitalisation.

NZX All

This index comprises all eligible equity securities listed on the NZX Alternative Market. It was developed to meet the growing needs of the many smaller but fast-growing and developing companies in New Zealand, and companies with non-traditional ownership structures.

ANZ Debt Indices

NZX calculates and distributes the ANZ Debt Indices, including NZ Government Bonds, Corporate Bonds, Bank Bills, Local Authority Bonds, Kauri Bonds (Overseas Issuer NZD Bonds) and Swaps.
