Our role and impact
Our responsibilities extend beyond being critical market infrastructure operating and regulating markets. We:
- Enable broader participation in capital markets
- Support strong corporate governance and market standards
- Contribute to public policy and the future of New Zealand’s financial system
We also support our communities through initiatives such as:
- Shares for Good – enabling investors to donate shares to charity
- NZ Financial Markets Charity Golf Classic – bringing the market together to raise funds for community organisations.
Engagement and accountability
Engagement with our stakeholders is central to how we operate. We work closely with issuers, investors, regulators, government, employees and the wider community to understand the issues that matter most. This informs our focus on the environmental, social and governance (ESG) topics that are most material to our business – including emerging and systemic risks such as climate change, and the broader economic and social impacts of our activities.
